TESAMORELIN
Tesamorelin - Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone Analog
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) consisting of the 44-amino acid sequence of native GHRH with the addition of a trans-3-hexenoic acid group. This modification enhances biological stability while preserving full receptor binding activity, making Tesamorelin a preferred GHRH analog in preclinical growth hormone research.
Mechanism of Action
Tesamorelin binds to GHRH receptors on somatotroph cells in the anterior pituitary gland, activating adenylyl cyclase and elevating intracellular cAMP levels. This cascade stimulates the synthesis and pulsatile secretion of endogenous growth hormone while maintaining the physiological feedback loop. Unlike direct GH administration, Tesamorelin preserves the natural diurnal rhythm of GH release.
